1946 Army-Navy Program Presented to President Harry S. Truman
An amazing thing. Major football piece that was also presented to a standing United States Commander is a monumental keepsake from a momentous game. From the classic 1946 Army-Navy Game in Philadelphia that has been classified as the pinnacle in the series. Deluxe-bound program comes with a letter to Dodgers owner Walter O'Malley signed by Glenn Davis, ticket stub and gorgeous vintage photo of Doc Blanchard and Glenn Davis, the Heisman Trophy winning twins who were famously playing in the last game of their collegiate careers. And ahhh what a game. Navy - a 30-point underdog - was three yards from a historic upset when the crowd of over 102,000 fans took over, spilling onto the field and nearly preventing the players from completing the game. Army did in fact win, 21-18 in one of the first nationally televised games ever.
