1946 Jack Johnson Signed Promotional Card

1946 Jack Johnson Signed Promotional Card

He was the first African-American World Heavyweight boxing champion, and this card features Jack Johnson's photo and promotes: "The Best Fighters I Ever Fought." The card is VG while the signature in dark black fountain ink is 9/10. There is a pencil notation at the bottom-right corner: "March 1946" and on the back in ink is: "St. Partick's Day, March 1946, NY City, Museum at 42nd St." Also on the back is stamped: "From the private collection of Harry Wilkinson." Sadly, it was signed while "The Galveston Giant" was performing at 42nd Street in New York when he was broke and forced to perform as an attraction at "Dime Museums."
