1946 National League All-Star Watch
In just his second season as a major league second baseman, Red Schoendienst was named to the National League All-Star Game at Fenway Park in Boston. As a result, he earned this Lord Elgin watch that is still in its original box .The back of the timepiece is thus engraved: "AL SCHOENDIENST N.L. ALL-STARS 1946." It is in EX condition but needs some tuning as it is not running. Schoendienst led off for the National League in the 1946 Mid-summer classic, going 0-for-2 but handling both of his chances in the field, including a double-play grounder. The American Leaguers won the game, 12-0 with hometown favorite Ted Williams providing the highlight by crushing Rip Sewell's famous "Eephus Pitch" for a home run.
