1946 Notre Dame National Champion Autographed Trophy Football
Gorgeous handpainted football ball signed by this penultimate team. Notre Dame's football dynasty is commonly believed to have begun with the 1946 national championship team that went 8-0-1. A wonderful piece of vintage sports art, comes with an early kicking tee, on which it was displayed for decades. This was obtained from a man whose wealthy lawyer uncle was an important Notre Dame alum. He saw it on display in his uncle's den for decades, and it was gifted to him in his waning years. The laces have been removed but it is a glorious memento featuring about 66 autographs in NRMT condition. Among those are legendary coach Frank Leahy, as well as All-Americans John Lujack, John Monstrangelo, George Connor and George Strohmeyer.
