1946 Sporting News Scion Charles Spink Occupational Shaving Mug

1946 Sporting News Scion Charles Spink Occupational Shaving Mug

Here's a personal mug belonging to the great nephew of the founder of The Sporting News, Alfred Henry Spink. His full name was actually Charles Claude Johnson Spink, as he was named for his important relatives in the early development of the "Bible of Baseball." The 4" tall mug was obtained directly from the Spink family and is dated 1946 from the heyday of the paper. The maker is "ARND & Co St. Louis," the same city where The Sporting News was published.
