1947 Bond Bread Jackie Robinson Rookie Card PSA GD 2
1947 Bond Bread Jackie Robinson (Portrait, Facsimile Autograph). Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. This is Jackie Robinson's true rookie card. After extensive research by members of the collecting community, it has been established that the thirteen-card set of Jackie Robinson Bond Bread cards were issued over a period of several years, beginning in 1947. The offered card, which is found in greater numbers today than the others, was the first card produced in 1947 and is believed to have been issued as a promotional giveaway at stores and by local delivery drivers, as opposed to being included in packages of Bond Bread. This first card is also the only card in the set to feature a biography of Robinson on the reverse. Robinson's involvement with Bond Bread may have been his first endorsement deal after joining the Brooklyn Dodgers, which only adds to the historical significance of the card set, and this first card in particular. The card displays a moderate corner crease in both the upper left and lower right, and is slightly off center, with light print marks in the upper left quadrant.
