1947 Jackie Robinson Day Special Scorecard and Ticket
A rare scorecard from this important game reads "Robinson Day" right on the cover. From late in Jackie's rookie year, this September 23, 1947, game heralded the legend who was celebrated for breaking the color barrier and leading Brooklyn to the World Series. The ticket has a small chip and the date written in ink on cover but it is otherwise is in EX condition. The card is unscored but there are penciled-in notations adding players to the roster. Bill "Bojangles" Robinson danced on the dugout on that great day which culminated with Brooklyn defeating the Giants, 6-1. Robinson's Dodgers took the favored Yankees to seven games in the World Series before falling.
