1947 World Series Brooklyn vs. New York Pennant
Fantastic pennant of the Brooklyn vs. N.Y. 1947 World Series, where two milestones were placed with great impact - the first televised October championship (only in the New York and surrounding area) and rookie Jackie Robinson’s (and consequently, an African-American’s) first appearance in an Autumn contest. Noted for also being the Yankees' (who won) return to post-season form, after a three year drought with no WS titles. Green, felt flag announces the players (DiMaggio, Berra, Reese, Page, etc.) on double scrolls. Very tip of pennant is missing, but no pinholes on this classic piece. Measures 27 ? x 11”, and extremely rare.
