1948 Butch Wensloff Cleveland Indians Game Worn Uniform Gifted to Priest
Outstanding Butch Wensloff game worn Cleveland Indians jersey from the remarkable 1948 World Series Championship season. Gifted to the consignor‚s mother by her uncle, he was presented this gamer by a member of the Indians organization in the late 1940s for his extreme fandom. The uncle was a passionate fan, friendly with the Cleveland Indians staff, knew many of the players personally and attended countless games. Jersey wears a year tag that reads "48" on the inside tail as well as the pants just inside the zipper. Nameplate in neck of jersey has been removed but the size "42" and Wilson tag remains. Jersey reads, "Indians" across the front and features number "17" on the back; both in red on blue flannel. Beautiful Chief Wahoo patch on left sleeve is clean and as impressive as it was the day it was made. This uniform even includes a pair of well used stirrups making this totally complete and one of the nicest we‚ve ever handled.
