1948 Carl Erskine Last Out Baseball from His First Career Win (PSA)

1948 Carl Erskine Last Out Baseball from His First Career Win (PSA)

One of Brooklyn's favorite pitchers during the 1950s, Carl Erskine earned the win in his Major League debut on July 25, 1948, pitching a scoreless inning of relief in the Dodgers' 7-6 come-from-behind win at Forbes Field. Here's the very baseball that served as the final out of that game, and it comes directly from the collection of Erskine with a Leland's LOA. The Official National League (Frick) baseball, which appears MT, shows use and features the following notation in Erskine's own hand in 7/10 ink: "7-25-48, Pittsburg 6, Brooklyn 7, Carl Erskine." Comes with PSA LOA.
