1948 Cleveland Indians World Series Apron

1948 Cleveland Indians World Series Apron

Scarce kitchen apron issued in commemoration of the Cleveland Indians' 1948 World Championship season. This is certainly one of the most novel baseball souvenirs from the era, and also one of the most attractive. The two-pocket red-and-white apron features a large image of the team's mascot in a batting pose, to the right of which is the team name "Indians." The painted lettering along the waistband reads "World Series 1948/American League Champions/Cleveland." The apron (17.5x13.5") is missing its two tie strings, as well as the white bib that surrounded the red body of the apron (they have both been neatly trimmed away). The piece has been mounted and framed to total dimensions of 21.5x17.5". Please note: the size and/or weight of this lot will necessitate an increased shipping charge.
