1948 Joe Louis Original LIFE Magazine Photo by Joe Schersel (PSA Type I)

Original large-format Type I photograph of Joe Louis taken in 1948 by renowned LIFE magazine photographer Joe Scherschel. The photo captures the famed "Brown Bomber" as he sits on the front porch of his house. Scherschel's "LIFE photo" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with the date stamp "Oct 16 1948" and a few additional labels and stampings.
