1949 Bowman Wild West Complete Set of 180 (minus 4)
One of Bowman's finer non-sports issues, this Wild West set consists of 180 cards. Each card boasts an image of a piece of a colorfully imaginative scene from the rough-and-tumble era of 19th century America. The set is anchored by such historic figures as Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, Geronimo, Jesse James, Annie Oakley and Sitting Bull. "Wildly" popular at the time of distribution, they staggered the release and adjusted print runs due to seasonality, thereby making some tough high numbers to give today's collectors fits. Overall EX condition, missing four cards: Fishing for Salmon, Cowboy Capers, Riding out the Earthquake and Tom Neal.
