1949 Brooklyn Dodgers National League Championship Banner
<p>This exceptional banner is very rare and the nicest of its kind that we have seen, celebrating the 1949 Brooklyn Dodgers' National League Championship. It was hung at the Brooklyn City Hall (we have photos of several of these exact banners hanging in front of City Hall) and may also have flown at Ebbets Field. It was certainly used to welcome the Dodgers back to Brooklyn after winning the NL pennant, with silk screen printing fading from blue to red and back surrounding an image of the historic Ebbets facade. There are two grommets at top for hanging and gold tassels at the bottom and the piece is in EX condition with some stains and fold lines. Measuring 34x36", it also comes with a letter from the original owner who received this from the Brooklyn Dodgers paymaster as well as a photo of banners hanging in front of City Hall.
