1949 Jackie Robinson Caught in a Squeeze Photograph (PSA Type I)

Vintage 9x7" Type I wire service photo captures the great Jackie Robinson in a dilemma, having been caught in a rundown after a failed squeeze attempt. The Dodgers legend is shown at Ebbets Field between New York Giants Johnny Mize and Bobby Rhawn, who eventually applied the tag. Beautiful presentation with sharp corners and no apparent blemishes, verso has wire service copy affixed, dated 4/21/49 with photo credit to Hugh Broderick along with stamps that are mostly covered by the caption. PSA encapsulated Type I Authentic.
