1949 Jackie Robinson Wristwatch
Jackie Robinson was undeniably ahead of his time. One of the rarer character watches, this circa 1949 original model features Jackie Robinson's image and scripted name on the face against a green and white baseball diamond motif. Quaintly, the numbers 12, 3, 6 & 9 are depicted as bases and a baseball adorns the hour hand. The watch has a brown leather band which, like the silver back and clasp, shows some natural age wear and darkening, only adding to the vintage look. VG-EX and one of the tougher watches of its kind to locate, as this was primarily promoted to African-American consumers following Jackie's 1949 MVP season.
