1949 Jimmy Fund Boston Braves Die-cuts

1949 Jimmy Fund Boston Braves Die-cuts

This is a collection of 15 die-cut cardboard counter cards featuring members of the 1949 Boston Braves, who undertook the support of the Jimmy Fund, a Boston Charity for children's cancer research. Measuring between 6" and 8" at the base and standing up to 12" tall, these heavy cardboard pieces feature sepia-toned player action photos in front of a large baseball bearing the caption "Thank You in behalf of 'Jimmy' " with a facsimile signature of the player pictured. The backs have fold-out easels so that the cards will stand up. Players included here are Clint Conaster, Al Dark, Bob Elliott, Tommy Holmes, Jim Russell, Johnny Sain, Sibby Sisti, Warren Spahn, Eddie Stanky, Earl Torgeson, Bill Salkeld, Vern Bickford, Pete Reiser, Phil Mast and Bob Hall. All the die-cuts except for Bob Hall are in their never-seen original envelopes. Overall, these die-cuts are in excellent condition and will make a unique addition to any Braves collection.
