1949 San Francisco Seals Tour of Japan Pin
Souvenir pin form the San Francisco Seals 1949 tour of Japan -- an important journey as it helped establish good feelings between the recently warring nations. Even Gen. MacArthur greeted the players at the airport. Unforgiving American players begged the Seals to win every game, and they did. Pin 1.5" in length with a photo inset of Lefty O'Doul, the onetime Seal who led the contingent at left and "Victory" engraved beside a loving cup on the shaft. Pin G-VG with tarnishing having toned the metal to a deep brown though the photo is unaffected.
