1949 World Series Opening Game & Official Mel Allen Scorecard (PSA)
Historic piece from a Hall of Fame announcer. Mel Allen was the legendary Yankees play-by-play man who called 22 World Series. This is his scorecard from Game 1 of the 1949 match-up between the Yankees and Dodgers and featured the first walk-off home run in World Series history. Don Newcombe set a record with 11 strikeouts before Tommy Henrich ended the game in the 9th. Each side has the scorecard for each team. From Mel Allen Estate. PSA
