1950's Ted Williams Lenox Porcelain Ashtray - First We've Seen

1950's Ted Williams Lenox Porcelain Ashtray - First We've Seen

In the collecting game, rarity is important, and that's the case here. Of course, quality can be as or more important, and this item has both. This is highest quality porcelain by Lenox (8"), makers of White House china and features The Splendid Splinter pulling no punches with his stance, facial features, Fenway Park architecture, and Red Sox logo. Obviously team-issued, they did not sell pieces of this quality then, so likely it was a cherished team VIP gift. A great find in NM condition, this might even have been to celebrate his final home run - it has that look.
