1950's Warren Spahn Game Worn Warm-Up Jacket
Just a remarkable find. Exquisitely crafted letterman-style jacket would be magnificent enough, purely aesthetically, but add to that its thoroughbred pedigree and we reach a new level of adoration. During Spahn's twelve years in Milwaukee, he led the league in wins no fewer than six times. The Hall of Fame. The 300 Win Club. He ranks among the true elite, making any piece from him a cut above. We all know how difficult jackets from the 1950's are, and also that the Braves style, with the famed tomahawk so expertly stitched across the chest, is among the most coveted. But check the lining by the zipper, for the yellow stitched "21" that attributes this to the superstar hurler. There is wear at the elasticized cuffs and other trim, but the black satin body is in very strong condition and is certainly wearable, though we don't recommend it. Treasure this like the piece of history that it is, and save the best place in your trophy room for display.
