1950-51 Toleteros Josh Gibson SGC 50 VG-EX 4

1950-51 Toleteros Josh Gibson SGC 50 VG-EX 4

One of the finest known graded specimens of the only baseball card ever manufactured of the greatest Negro League player who ever lived, if not the greatest player period, Josh Gibson. Graded SGC 50 VG-EX 4, the card is well-centered, 50-50 top to bottom and 60-40 left to right. The card was slightly downgraded because there are minimal touches to all 4 corners. Additionally, there is some light toning to the blank-backed reverse. Less than a dozen of these cards are known to still be in existence. In a previous auction, Lelands was proud to offer an SGC 88 NM-MT 8 example that sold for approximately $70,000. Card is 1-5/8 x 2-3/8".
