1950-52 Royal Stars of Baseball Complete & Near-Complete Sets with Variations & Unopened Pudding Box
The 1950-52 Royal Stars of Baseball set is a really tough set to complete in any kind of decent shape. The cards were printed on the back of Royal dessert boxes, and took up nearly the entire surface, thus the problem cutting them out with wide borders. They were issued over a span of three years, starting in 1950. A total of 24 players were pictured in either a black and white, or blue and white. Short player bios and performance stats accompany the photos.This interesting Royal Stars collection has one complete set 24/24, one near-set 18/24, one grouping of 10 variations, one unopened box of Gelatin, one Royal Stars card storage binder and even features some of the rare blue cards. Complete set includes Musial, Reese, Kell, DiMaggio, Spahn, Pafko, Seminick, Brissie, Blackwell, Thompson, Rizzuto, Henrich, Gordon, Scarborough, Rojek, Appling, Marshall, Dark, Sisler, Ostrowski, Trucks, Robinson, Fernandez and Fain. Near-complete set includes numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21 and 22. Variations include numbers (2) 2, 3, 6. 11, 14, 16 and (2) 19. As with most "hand-cut" cards, they grade Authentic with inconsistent edges.
