1950 Boston Braves Complete Road Uniform
From 1870 to 1953, the Braves gave the city of Boston a National League alternative to the Red Sox. This gorgeous full uniform from one of their last seasons in Beantown radiates sensational style and history with the tomahawk emblazoned across the chest. Manufactured by Horace Partridge, the jersey features a zipper-down front, red #20 on the back, Indian patch on the left shoulder and "50" year tag inside the tail. The Size 44 road flannel is tagged extra in the collar and the uniform probably belonged to pitcher Dick Donovan who wore #20 that year. The pants are also tagged 1950 and have a (Connie) Ryn Tag inside. There have been no alterations or changes. The 1950 Braves finished in fourth place with a solid 83-71 record. It was a historic season for the franchise as center fielder Sam Jethroe became the first black player ever to suit up as a Brave.
