1950 Brooklyn Dodgers Team-Signed Advertising Mailer w/Robinson & Campanella (PSA)
Advertising mailer for the historic Boston eatery Durgin-Park, signed on the address section by the following twelve members of the 1950 Brooklyn Dodgers: Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Duke Snider, Don Newcombe, Dan Bankhead, Ralph Branca, Bruce Edwards, Billy Cox, Gene Hermanski, Rex Barney, Preacher Roe, and Chris Van Cuyk. The date, "9/4/50," is written on the signature panel. All the signatures have been scripted in blue fountain pen and grade 9/10 on average with the exception of Snider and Barney (7/10; slight bleeding), and Van Cuyk (6/10; slight stain touching upon it). Durgin-Park was one of the oldest restaurants in Boston at the time and it just recently closed in 2019 after operating for more than 200 years. Research indicates that the Dodgers were in Boston on September 4, 1950, for a double header against the Braves. One can only assume that the signatures were obtained that evening at the restaurant while the players were dining there. The mailer (5.5x4"; folded) displays a tiny stain near the base and a few stray ink marks on the front; otherwise it is in Excellent condition. Full LOA from PSA.
