1950 Comiskey Park Standee Ticket Sign for the Chicago Cardinals with Curley Lambeau
A stupendous piece, here is a huge 40x25" sign on wood particle board with original cardboard standee on verso. The point-of-purchase display advertises ticket sales at Comiskey Park, reads, "Member of the American Conference 'League of Champions,'" and advises you to "Make Reservations Here." Best of all, iconic coach Curly Lambeau graces the center, surrounded by an attractive montage of his players, with Charlie Trippi, Cecil Isbell, Pat Harder, Dove, Kutner, Cowhig, Hardy, Fischer, Nussbaumer, Handler, Goldsberry, Blackburn, Wham, Ramsey, Angsman, and Frank Tripucka, father of basketballer Kelly. It shows some wear as it was used in the ticket office at the park. From the Gus LeDonne collection, legendary football and sports collector who passed away too soon in 2013.
