1950 Edmonton Mercurys World Championship Medal and Memorabilia

1950 Edmonton Mercurys World Championship Medal and Memorabilia

Known as the "Forgotten Team," the Edmonton Mercurys won the 1950 World Ice Hockey Championships in London, England, and the Gold Medal at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, Norway, marking the last time a Canadian hockey team would win gold until 2002. Included in this package is Watt's well-worn, gold-colored sterling medal from the 1950 World Championship. It weighs 3 oz and shows a goalie on one side with "Worlds Championships" and "1950" etched on. The other side reads "International Ice Hockey Federation." In addition, there is a 1950 "World and European Championship" participants bronze medal. This weighs in a 2 oz and is in great shape. Next is a hockey puck with "Zurich 1950" carved on one side. The last item in this package is a team photo from the 1950 championship. L.O.A. from Watt's family.
