1950 Jackie Robinson "Babe Ruth" Trophy from The Robinson Estate

1950 Jackie Robinson "Babe Ruth" Trophy from The Robinson Estate

Here's a resplendent and prestigious award presented to Jackie Robinson on January 26, 1950 from the Queens Baseball Alliance. Most notably, there are two standing figures of the great Babe Ruth (who passed away just 17 months earlier, hence the influence) on this three-tiered trophy. The plaque reads: "Queens Baseball Alliance To Jackie Robinson Outstanding Ball Player and Citizen January 26, 1950." We obtained this directly from Rachel Robinson, Jackie's wife, and will include our LOA stating this. A masterful piece that measures 13" tall. Robinson was a historically significant figure who broke baseball's color barrier in 1947 but transcended sports and blazed a path for millions of others, in various fields, to follow.
