1950 New York Yankees World Champion Compact Presented to Mrs. George Weiss

Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1971, George Weiss was one of the Major Leagues‚ most successful farm system directors and general managers during his 29-year-long tenure with the New York Yankees. During his tenure the Yankees had much success and he was often given little trinkets and mementos in appreciation for his fine work.From the Weiss personal collection comes this unique "1950 World Champions" compact that was given to Mrs. Weiss, Georges wife. It is well known that players wives and high ranking people in the Yankees organization were presented with these after they won the World Series.This comes directly from the Weiss family and includes a magazine photo of this exact compact with other awards and jewelry that was presented to Weiss over the years. Collection also includes additional photo presented to Weiss.The face of the compact presents well with only some wear and tarnishing noticed; the inside mirror is broken and the back is missing as well.
