1950s Brooklyn Dodgers Game Worn Jersey Made Into Pillow by Paul Waner

1950s Brooklyn Dodgers Game Worn Jersey Made Into Pillow by Paul Waner

For those who eat, breathe and SLEEP baseball, this lot is just for you. From the Paul Waner collection, this clever pillow consisting of an old Brooklyn Dodgers home jersey was created by Waner's wife. It was not worn by the Hall of Fame outfielder during a game, as the first Brooklyn player to be assigned the number 43 was Johnny Van Cuyk in 1947, three years after Waner left the club. The pillow shows some wear as there are holes and a bit of staining. For a perfect companion piece, check out the similar novelty item from Yankees icon Roger Maris, also in this auction. If purchased as a set, it is conceivable both could be used in some kind of retro-New York City baseball pillow fight!
