1950's Casey Stengel Original Artwork by Bob Taylor

1950's Casey Stengel Original Artwork by Bob Taylor

Original pen-and-ink artwork on paper of Yankees manager Casey Stengel by artist Bob Taylor. Titled "Casey's Final At-Bat" in blue pencil along the base, this illustration most likely appeared in either a newspaper or magazine. The artwork features a large portrait of Casey tipping his cap, which releases a bird bearing the lettering "A Legacy of Eternal Youth & Joy." (One of Casey Stengel's most famous stunts on the field as a player was doffing his cap to the crowd and having a bird fly out from under it.) Signed by the artist in the lower right quadrant. The artwork (14x11.5") displays a few small, light stains and small creases in the upper right quadrant, as well as a few tack holes along the perimeter.
