1950s Jackie Robinson Signed Chock Full O' Nuts Plaque that Hung in NY Restaurant (PSA)

1950s Jackie Robinson Signed Chock Full O' Nuts Plaque that Hung in NY Restaurant (PSA)

With the retirement from his historic Major League career looming, Jackie Robinson turned to the business world as a vice president with the Chock full o' Nuts company in 1957. Far from being a figurehead, Robinson took his role seriously, and this 10x12" wood plaque hung in one of the coffee house franchises in the in 1960s. Signed by Robinson on the bottom in 9/10 blue ballpoint ink, it regards rules for working in the restaurant, with a stern focus on cleanliness concluding that, "You would be better off doing some other type of work" if unable to maintain such an environment. Comes with JSA LOA grading the signature a "9" and the plaque has minor scratches.
