1950s John Kissell Cleveland Browns Sideline Jacket
Defensive tackle John Kissell was one of the stalwarts on the Browns' 1950-55 teams that utterly dominated the NFL those years. Kissell, a Boston College standout, came to Paul Brown's team in 1950, the same year it jumped from the All-America Football Conference, joining the core of stars such as Otto Graham, Marion Motley, Dante Lavelli, Lou Groza and Bill Willis. Kissell did not miss a game for six straight seasons. Today he is a member of the Browns' all-time team. The team jacket he wore during those heady years, and owned for years after, reeks of NFL majesty. The heavy wool is bright chocolate-brown with orange trim on the elastic sleeves and waistband and "70" stitched onto the left sleeve. There is a "King O'Shea" label in the neck and a "Blepp-Coombs" label with the siz tag "52" in the interior lining. Slight fraying on the sleeve and waist, but o/a a dazzler. LOA.
