1950s Sandy Consuegra Painted Baseballs Collection of 8
These are from the collection of the Sandalic "Sandy" Consuegra. Painted by a Latin artist for his friend Sandy, they are in the style of artisan George Sosnak. Completed over his eight-year Major League pitching career, they are painted on all sides in delightful colors. All but one are from his tenure with the Chicago White Sox during their prime: 1) Consuegra is named to the 1954 All Star team. 2) Four-hitter versus Boston. 3) Gergel Kell bats in Nellie Fox to beat the Nats. 4) Sandy beats KC with Kell & Minoso helping out. 5) Sherm Lollar & Chico beat the Red Sox. 6) Chico beats Sammy White of the Boston Red Sox. 7) Nellie Fox doubles to help Sandy beat KC. 8) Sandy is a Washington Senator in 1951 game versus the New York Yankees, beats Yankees with a drawn-on lineup featuring Mantle & DiMaggio (VG). All are on Official AL baseballs. Overall EX+. All are by the same unknown Latin artist whose style and work we recognize. Group of eight are so much more interesting as a collection than separate.
