1950s Syracuse University Stadium Football Sign from the Jim Brown/Ernie Davis Era
Before it yielded to the Carrier Dome in 1980, Archbold Stadium played host to Syracuse University football since its opening in 1907. This classic hand-painted wood sign measures 18x11.5" and offers a warning to fans from that classic venue; "Parking at your Own Risk During Ball Game." One can envision the cold upstate New York winter nights with Jim Brown and Ernie Davis patrolling the backfield, as this displays a great weather-beaten countenance. There are hooks at the top, rusted, for hanging, and holes that appear to allow mounting, with a crack or two but all in one great piece.
