1950s Tom Yawkey Hillerich & Bradsby Professional Model Bat
1950-1960 H&B Louisville Slugger signature model "W183" bat made for Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame owner Tom Yawkey. Unlike most owners, Yawkey enjoyed the company of his players and even liked to take an occasional round of batting practice with the club before games. For that purpose, H&B produced a number of pro-model bats for Yawkey bearing his facsimile signature stamped on the barrel, of which this is one. The offered example, which is not cracked and measures 35" in length, shows little-to-no use aside from minor wear to the barrel end. The bat's weight, "33 3/4," is written on the knob in black marker. A fine representative example of this scarce Hall of Famer bat and the first we have offered.
