1951 Hall of Famers Reunion with Cobb & Wagner Oversize Original Photograph Signed by Toots Shor (PSA Type I)
Original Type I oversized photograph capturing fourteen of the game's greatest former players posing together at a banquet held in celebration of the National League's 75th Anniversary in 1951. Included here are Ty Cobb, Cy Young, Jimmie Foxx, Mel Ott, Mickey Cochrane, Rogers Hornsby, Tris Speaker, Pie Traynor, George Sisler, Ed Walsh, Charlie Gehringer, Kid Nichols, Fred Clarke, and Arlie Latham. The banquet was held at the iconic New York restaurant Toots Shor's, and the offered photo has been inscribed by the eatery's equally famous owner, Toots Shor, along the top border: "To Joe, This team needs a left hand batting catcher and I pick you. - Toots Shor." Both the inscription and signature have been scripted in black fountain pen and grade 7/10. The photo (14x10.5") bears two credit stamps of photographer Bill Mark on the reverse. The photo has been trimmed along the bottom border and displays numerous moderate-to-heavy creases throughout. Several areas of tape residue remain on the reverse. Accompanied by a full LOA from PSA certifying the photo as Type I Authentic and the Toots Shor autograph and inscription as "Authentic."
