1951 Hugh McElhenny East/West Shrine Game Worn Jersey
The legendary George Halas called Hugh McElhenny, "The most feared back his team ever faced." As a rookie in 1952, he recorded the season's longest run from scrimmage (89 yards), the longest punt return (94 yards), and the top rushing average (7.0 yards per carry) and was a unanimous choice for the league's Rookie of the Year honors. This is Hugh McElhenny's 1951 East/West game jersey. In this game McElhenny teamed with Frank Gifford and Ollie Matson in the same backfield. McElhenny spent 14 years in the NFL with the 49ers, Vikings, Giants and Lions and was selected to the College and NFL Hall of Fame. It is the classic royal blue dureen -- size 44 with a vintage Free-Minnetti of San Francisco (official supplier to the East/West teams) tagging. It has large gold and thin stripes on the sleeves and McElhenny's number "32" sewn in gold on the front and back. McElhenny has signed the jersey on the back number "2." LOA from Hugh McElhenny accompanies the jersey.
