Original Type I photograph capturing Hall of Fame pitcher Satchel Paige as a member of the St. Louis Browns. Paige is pictured walking to the dugout after being relieved from his stint on the mound. A Brown Brothers label appears on the reverse, along with two Brown Brothers credit stamps and the original paper news caption. According to the caption, Paige is pictured here walking dejectedly off the mound after giving up eight hits in the sixth inning to the Yankees during the first game of doubleheader at Sportsman's Park on July 22, 1951. Paige and the Browns lost the game 9-0. The photo (7x9") displays numerous light-to-moderate creases. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archives. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
