1951 Yankees Plaque from Helms Athletic Foundation

Handsome wood plaque measuring approximately 40 x 42 1/2" was given to the New York Yankees by the Helms Athletic Foundation in 1951. The dedication is engraved, "Commemorating the First Appearance of the Famous New York Yankees (Thirteen Times World Champions) on the Pacific Coast, Yankees vs. Hollywood Stars, March 16, 1951, Presented to New York Yankees Baseball Club by the Helms Athletic Foundation." Team photos of the first 13 World Championship Bronx Bombers teams adorn the plaque including the 1950 team which measures 12 x 10". The other team photos are approximately 11 x 7". Beautiful vintage photos of many Yankees greats including Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Stengel, Berra, Rizzuto, Henrich, Martin, and many more. The photographs are all NRMT, the heavy wooden plaque shows a little wear but overall, EX-MT.
