1952 Jake Pitler Brooklyn Dodgers Game Worn Flannel Jersey
Pittsburgh Pirate second baseman Jake Pitler’s playing days (1917-18) came years before he ever slipped his arms through this 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers gem of a flannel jersey, but, to some, his coaching (first base) years with New York’s fabled franchise was his most cherished. This Dodgers jersey, with blue scripted logo across its buttoned-down front, has his red #31 on front and blue #31 on back, and six air-holes underneath each armpit. Nice addition, a blue single-threaded name sewn on front left tail, “Pitler 52-2.” Rawlings black tag on neck, with flagged size tag, “42,” off of that. Some off-colored tones around neck and bottom tails from its use in the Brooklyn sun.
