1953 First Issue of Playboy Magazine (CGC 5.5)

1953 First Issue of Playboy Magazine (CGC 5.5)

A Must for collectors of Playboy, and Marilyn Monroe. Just as Marilyn Monroe's legendary movie career was bursting forth, Hugh Hefner's Playboy featured her on its first ever magazine, Volume 1, Issue 1. Although Monroe died in 1962, more than half a century later she remains an overwhelming cultural icon. Magazine is graded and encapsulated by CGC 5.5 with off-white to white pages. Just a few minor dings around the edges and spine, and some light toning - very clean example. As its "Sweetheart of the Month", magazine has Marilyn Monroe in black and white, dressed, on the cover, - and inside in color, a nude centerfold with Marilyn perched on red velvet. This issue also features the first-ever appearance of Mr. Playboy. Original Vol.1, Issue 1 Playboys are very scarce and can only continue to increase in value.
