1953 Jim Hegan Cleveland Indians Game Worn Jersey
One of the game's best defensive catchers, Jim Hegan was a 17-year major league veteran and five-time All-Star. During the 1953 season, the Massachusetts native sported this home white Cleveland jersey with red script "Indians" lettering stitched across the chest and navy piping. Hegan's name appears in black script on an inside tail patch, and below the neck is a "MacGregor size 44" label. The jersey shows good use, including some spotting near the top. There is also a Chief Wahoo patch on the left sleeve. Over a half-century since his retirement, Hegan is still the Tribe's all-time leader in games played at catcher with 1,491.
