1953 Leo Nomellini Wresting Original Negatives (20)
NFL Hall of Famer Leo Nomellini was also a professional wrestler in the off-season and this collection of (20) 4 x 5" negatives capture the legendary powerhouse in the ring of San Francisco's Cow Palace in June of 1953. There are both ring shots, close-ups of Nomellini wrestling with the likes of Lou Thesz and even Jack Dempsey. There are also several crowd shots as well, showing how popular the sport was by the sheer number of spectators. The condition of the negatives are VG/EX (there is a single negative which is quite dark and difficult to discern the image) and depict a great athlete showcasing his skills in his off-season job.
