1953 Marilyn Monroe Signed Check While Married to Joe DiMaggio (PSA)

1953 Marilyn Monroe Signed Check While Married to Joe DiMaggio (PSA)

A great deal of Hollywood (and baseball) history is packed into this original check signed by Marilyn Monroe. Made out to screenwriter and novelist Charles Grayson, the 7x3" Bank of America check in the amount of $237.82 is dated January 23, 1953, and signed by Marilyn in 7/10 blue ballpoint ink, with her name printed in the same ink immediately below. Back has a cancellation stamp of Jan 31, 1953, but the handwritten note adds further intrigue, reading, "This check releases Miss Monroe of all obligations on lease of 2393 Castillian Dr, LA. It does NOT cover the telephone bill." What it does cover is the purchase of the house to be inhabited by Mr. and Mrs. Joe DiMaggio, a somewhat secretive purchase made during the runup to the pair's 1954-55 marriage. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA as AUTHENTIC AUTO.
