1953 Pee Wee Reese National League Champions Ring
This magnificent and deeply significant 1953 National League Championship ring came from Pee Wee's family, who knew better than anyone how much it meant to the great Brooklyn Dodger shortstop. That the joy and memories the ring provides will now be shared with someone fortunate enough to own it is a measure of the enduring legend of on-field excellence and off-field kindness displayed by the most beloved "Bum" of all. While that would be the case with any Reese memorabilia, we're especially proud to offer this ring, as it is the 1st '53 Dodger ring we've seen in NRMT condition and sparkles like the gleam in Pee Wee's eyes when he spoke of the game and the team he loved. The center of the shiny and spotless 14-karat gold ring features a blue stone around which the "bases" are filled by 4 half-karat real diamonds. This is surrounded by a 10-karat yellow gold oval corona engraved with "National League Champions" and a engraved border of gold laurel leaves with "1953" on left and right sides. On the left and right shanks are identical, finely detailed engravings of Ebbets Field, a scripted "Dodgers" and a ball and crossed-bats design. NRMT all the way. Inside of the ring is inscribed "Pee Wee Reese." That Pee Wee loved his championship rings so much makes them all the more valuable. Ring comes in the original leather-exterior black and gold L.G. Balfour box. The snap-top cover, engraved "1953 National League Champions", has come off but can be easily repaired. Overall condition of the box is VG. LOA from the Reese family.
