1953 Roy Campanella Signed Original Artwork
Rhode Island-based freelance cartoonist Frank Lanning illustrated legendary Dodgers catcher Roy Campanella in this framed and matted strip that was obviously drawn before his crippling accident. The artwork - titled "Early Foot" - is subtitled: "Brooklyn's ace receiver is spread-eagling the field with his terrific hitting." It details the beloved Brooklyn star being on pace to set a couple of major league records, including Hack Wilson's season RBI mark and Ruth's home run milestone. The strip was signed by Campy in 9/10 blue ink: "To Danny, Best Wishes, Sincerely, Roy Campanella" and appears in NRMT condition.
