1954-1962 Vintage Baseball Pennant Collection (4)
Displayed is a nice collection of vintage baseball pennants. 1) 1959 American League All-Stars pennant. The pennant depicts a rendering of the Los Angeles Coliseum, the site of the game and better known as a football venue. The pennant displays 25 names. Included are Hall of Famers Mantle, Ted Williams, Bunning, Kaline, Berra, Fox, Killebrew, Whitey Ford, Wilhelm, Early Wynn, and manager Casey Stengel - as well as soon to be Hall of Famer Minnie Minoso. The pennant is 29.5" long and in good condition. 2) 1954 New York Giants National League Champions. The pennant lists 27 names. Included are Hall of Fame manager Leo Durocher, and Hall of Fame players Willie Mays, Monte Irvin, and Hoyt Wilhelm. The pennant is 29" long and in good condition. 3) Pennant reading, "Guest Grand Opening/Dodger Stadium/Home of the Dodgers and Angels/April 9, 1962." The pennant measures 29" in length and it is in good condition. The Dodgers had played their first four seasons in the Los Angeles Coliseum, and the Angels played their first season in Wrigley Field, in South Los Angeles, former home of the Pacific Coast league Los Angeles Angels, and the site of the iconic baseball television syndicated show Home Run Derby. 4) 1954 Cleveland Indians American league Champions. The pennant has a depiction of Municipal Stadium and lists team members such as Hall of Fame manager Al Lopez, and Hall of Fame players Bob Feller, Early Wynn, Bob Lemon, and Larry Doby. The pennant is in good condition and is 29.5" in length.
