Bowman’s 1954 offering consists of 224 full-color cards. It is believed that contractual problems caused the Ted Williams card to be pulled from the set early in the run. It is a tough card to find today. Some of the key cards grade as follows: #65 Mantle (3/4 inch wrinkle on obverse, o/w EX), 66 Ted Williams (small wrinkle on reverse in upper right corner, o/w NRMT), 89 Mays (EX+), 90 Campanella (EX+), 161 Berra (VG-EX+), 170 Snider (VG-EX), and 177 Ford (VG-EX+). Some of the stars grade VG-EX because of creasing. Set averages EX+ to EX-MT.
