1954 Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio Arrive in Japan for Their Honeymoon Photograph (PSA Type II)
Vintage photograph capturing Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe as they arrive in Japan for the start of the their honeymoon in 1954. DiMaggio and Monroe are practically engulfed by a sea of fans and reporters as several Japanese officials attempt to clear the way. Also pictured in the photo is Lefty O'Doul, who is standing on the opposite side of Monroe. After their honeymoon, Monroe traveled to Korea to entertain the US troops, while DiMaggio and O'Doul remained in Japan to run a series of baseball clinics for the Japanese players. The photo (7.5x8.75") displays a few light surface wrinkles, as well as a few areas of adhesive residue on the reverse from having once been mounted in an album. PSA encapsulated as Type II Authentic.
